Home Energy Saving Tips

Posted on October 26, 2022 By samadmin

Some tips: – seal doors if needed to prevent drafts – make sure windows are intact as well -insulate onto window if possible. I have seen people put yoga mats up, and other similar material. – rugs if you don’t have carpet – insulate the attic and garage really well. – Make sure garage is sealed if applicable. – Use a tea light as the evening winds down and the sun sets. In a small closed room, a few tea lights and a terra cotta pot can become a heater. – warm water bottles – hand warmers – layers layers layers – put blankets over curtains to completely seal off visible light from windows. – reduce use of exits; use one for entering and the same for leaving. – make sure everyone in the home has some comfy socks – wear slippers with your socks – when the oven is being pre-heated, while it’s cooking and after it’s done cooking your meal, you can put a fan next to it and it’ll heat the kitchen up a bit. It doesn’t really take away from the time it takes because that heat radiates anyways, but otherwise would kinda stay in one spot… – if applicable, put up a barrier for wind/cold/drafts from that entry/exit point. Even something like a light curtain. This is probably most applicable if you have a mudroom, or a laundry room between the garage and home, or if you have a small sectioned off entry foyer. – giant hoodies.
