(takes the guess work out of which ports you need to exclude)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/helpomatic.com\/quickbooks-2020-quickbooksdb30-service-database-manager-wont-start\/\">https:\/\/helpomatic.com\/quickbooks-2020-quickbooksdb30-service-database-manager-wont-start\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Run QB Database manager, click the &#8220;Port Monitor&#8221; tab (for newer versions)<\/li><li>Take note of the port it wants.<\/li><li>Stop the QB Service and the DNS Server service<\/li><li>Open an admin command prompt and use this to exclude it:<\/li><li>netsh int ipv4 add excludedportrange protocol=udp startport=xxxxx numberofports=5<ul><li>replace xxxxx with the port number listed in the DB manager<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Start the DNS Server service<\/li><li>Start the QuickBooksDBxx Service<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You should now have both services running and since the DNS Server service started first it shows that it should not be an issue every boot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry I know this is a really old post but in case this helps someone else, this is the best solution that I have found to exclude the ports yet.
