SoftDent reindexing process

Posted on January 8, 2021 By samadmin

 SDWin DBM Error, File No. ### Error = 14 is displayed continuously when logging in.

 File Appears Corrupt at Open

 Faircom server has crashed

 Faircom server has shutdown improperly

Details:

 CS SoftDent Practice Management Software

 – Client Server

  o Versions 16.x

  o Versions 14.x and prior

Cause:

 Faircom server crashed

 Faircom server has shutdown improperly

 Power failure

 CS SoftDent was shut down improperly

Solution:If the Office Has a Backup

1. Make sure the Faircom Server piece is SHUT DOWN. (Control > Shutdown – Type: ADMIN)

2. MAKE SURE THE OFFICE HAS A VALID and RECENT BACKUP. Also make sure the caller has the ability to RESTORE their RECENT BACKUP. If not, send the client a Data Risk Form and copy the SOFTDENT directory to the desktop as a local backup.

3. Open CS SoftDent utilities.

4. Bypass all errors.

5. Click No when asked to “Try Again”.

***THIS PART IS FOR NEW INSTALL ONLY:***

If the errors will not allow you to enter SOFTDENT Software Utilities, it may be necessary to rename

“Userinfo.dat” and “Userinfo.idx”

“netuser.dat” and “.idx” and

spawn.dat and spawn.idx” and

account.dat and .idx”

trans.dat and trans.idx”

from within the server’s SERVER folder. Then enter utilities using the login “DOCTOR “. Once you have logged in to Utilities, minimize Utilities and remove the newly created Userinfo.dat and Userinfo.idx in the SERVER folder. Rename the old Userinfo.dat and Userinfo.idx files back to their original names.

***OK INSTALL OVER***

Then continue with the following steps.

6. Run Rebuild / Reindex on ALL files.

7. Run Remake Scheduler File.

8. Run Scheduler Repair.

9. Set today’s date to yesterday’s date. Click OK.

10. Click Date Range and then click OK.

11. Do not update the patient next appt date.

12. Do not reset scheduler $ for past days.

13. The start date will be changed to today’s date. This is normal.

14. After the scheduler repair is finished, close SDUtils.

15. Search for all files named SCHED.HIST*, and delete them. (I did not find these)

16. Launch the Faircom Server piece.

17. Launch SoftDent Software.

18. Run a daysheet for yesterday, verify totals.

19. Verify the scheduler is correct.
